Woodland

Residents elected three municipal officials and approved the expenditure of $540,854 during their annual elections and town meeting March 14 and 15.

Harold J. Tardy was elected to another three-year term on the Board of Selectmen with 38 votes over Ralph Conroy. Elected unopposed to the school committee were Cindy Nowes for a one-year term and Neali Moir to a three-year term.

In addition to approving their 2005 budget, residents agreed to use state revenue sharing money and $30,000 from undesignated funds to offset the tax commitment.

The town also will use $39,156 in state money to offset capital improvements to roads, $30,000 from the undesignated account for unanticipated purchases of equipment and $10,000 from the same account to cover municipal overdrafts.
