Family members of Dwayne Murphy, 40, of Bangor are looking for information about the missing man, last seen in Bangor on March 4. His younger brother Dean Murphy and other family members who live in Hancock County have made regular visits to Bangor in recent weeks in search of Murphy, the brother said Friday. Nearly a month ago, Dwayne Murphy claimed that he was going to stay for a few days with a friend the family knows only as “Mike.” Since then he has yet to contact the family and they are worried, Dean Murphy said. Dwayne Murphy is a diabetic and he had a 10-day supply of insulin with him, his brother said. The missing man also is on paranoia medications, which he didn’t have with him. There has been no activity on Dwayne Murphy’s bank account, and a missing person alert has been sent out to law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for the man, Bangor police Detective Jeff Small said this week. As part of the investigation, Small checked with shelters and soup kitchens in the region and with other places the missing man might have gone, the detective said. Dwayne Murphy is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 240 pounds, with blue eyes and sandy-colored hair in a crew-cut style. Anyone with information can contact Small at 947-7382, ext. 255.
