BANGOR – A man who in February ordered three pizzas and allegedly robbed and assaulted the delivery driver with the help of four juveniles was indicted on Monday by the Penobscot County grand jury for robbery.

Jared Kohler, 18, of Exeter, N.H., called Domino’s Pizza on March 30, Penobscot County Assistant District Attorney Greg Campbell said Monday. Kohler and the others allegedly attacked the deliveryman outside a Bolling Drive residence where they had ordered the pizzas delivered.

He is scheduled to be indicted on Friday, April 29, in Penobscot County Superior Court. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

None of the alleged assailants lived at the residence, and the decision to pick that address appeared to be random, Bangor police said last month when the five were arrested.

They took about $200 in cash, some of driver’s personal property and the pizzas, according to Campbell. The delivery driver suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

In an unrelated case, Matthew A. Crossman, 19, of Bangor was indicted on eight counts of burglary, six counts of theft, and criminal mischief. Crossman and others last year allegedly broke into storage units at two self-storage businesses in Bangor and one in Carmel.

If convicted, Crossman faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000 on each count.

The District Attorney’s Office is expected to file charges against others involved in the crime spree.
