Veazie police are searching for a suspect who reportedly broke into the Veazie Veterinary Clinic sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning and took several items.
Sometime between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, someone forced entry into the clinic through a rear entrance, Veazie police Sgt. Keith Emery said Thursday night.
The intruder made off with a desktop computer, a digital camera, several types of narcotic drugs including morphine and about $1,200 in cash, the sergeant said.
Emery added that police had no concrete suspects but said, “we’re following up on some pretty good leads.”

Hermon police are investigating two Tuesday morning burglaries, one at Hermon Middle School and another at a local kennel, in which small amounts of cash were stolen.
A room at the middle school was broken into sometime between 3 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday and $30 was taken from a cash box, according to Sgt. Bill Laughlin of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department.
Also reported on Tuesday was a burglary at Second Home kennel on Wing Road, where $50 was taken from a locked cash drawer, Laughlin said. A key that was hidden outside the building was used to open the box, leading police to believe the thief is familiar with the business, he said.
No charges have been filed in either case, Laughlin said.

An Old Town woman was arrested for violating conditions of her release Wednesday night after a police officer spotted her outside a local bar when she was not supposed to be consuming alcohol.
Old Town police Officer Lori Renzullo was driving by Number Ten North Main, a local bar, when she spotted a female she recognized as Cheryl Ianozi, 36, outside the bar’s entrance.
Ianozi had bail conditions from a previous operating under the influence conviction that stated she was not to consume alcohol. She admitted to the officer that she had one beer but an Intoxilyzer test revealed her blood alcohol to be 0.24, three times the legal limit.
