Bobby, 14, is a handsome boy with blond hair and green eyes. A very likeable teenager with many endearing qualities, Bobby enjoys playing sports, biking, fishing and playing outside. He also likes to play board games and video games.
Bobby and his three brothers came into the care of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services in December 1996. Those who work closely with Bobby and his brothers determined that it was in the boys’ best interest to be placed separately and to have separate plans for adoption. Bobby has occasional contact with one of his brothers.
Bobby is often eager to please others and is interested in making friends and having good social experiences. He enjoys the social interaction found in many activities and is willing to play sports and to participate in all available activities. His social skills generally are very strong.
Bobby has been diagnosed with a learning disability but has received special education assistance and support primarily in the area of behavior. Bobby does very well in a small, structured educational setting and recently was very proud of himself for making the honor roll.
Bobby is making progress in therapy to deal with his losses and express his emotions surrounding the challenges of his past. He needs a nurturing home to provide him with structure, consistency and love. He would do well with either a single-parent or two-parent family.
Bobby is one of 220 Maine children currently in Maine DHHS care who are seeking an adoptive family. For more information about Bobby or other children available for adoption, please contact A Family for ME at (877) 505-0545 or visit www.afamilyforme.org.
A Family for ME is a nonprofit program based in Gardiner that works in collaboration with Maine DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
