Developer Michael Stern, who is working on the redevelopment of the former Eastern Fine Paper mill site, is expected to participate next Wednesday in a public meeting for residents in the area to see his final concept plans and artists’ renderings of the project. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at City Hall. Stern also will give an update on progress made in finding tenants for the property and on the revised schedule for the redevelopment effort. The public will be able to ask questions and provide input. “I’ve done a great deal of work to get to this point,” Stern said in a prepared statement released Friday. “I’ve finally gotten to the point where I’m happy with the plans and where my detailed market studies indicate the project will be a success.” His plans include an $18 million first-phase development in the mill property to create a mixed-use facility to house specialty retail businesses, restaurants, entertainment venues, office space, an arts center, an ice rink, a public market and both condominiums and rental housing.
