BANGOR – An Old Town man who has admitted being part of a local drug conspiracy waived indictment Friday and pleaded guilty to federal drug charges.

Jeffrey Kimball, 25, faces up to 20 years in prison and could be fined up to $1 million for conspiracy to possess oxycodone and cocaine.

A sentencing date in U.S. District Court in Bangor has not been set. He is being held at the Piscataquis County Jail until his case is resolved.

Kimball was an associate of William Leland, 48, of Alton, according to court documents, and lived in a trailer on Leland’s property.

Leland is awaiting sentencing on federal drug and gun charges.

Kimball packaged and re-rocked cocaine for Leland to pay off a drug debt, according to the prosecution’s version of events.

At one point, Leland threatened to kill Kimball if he did not repay the $5,000 he owed the Alton man. Kimball talked his girlfriend into selling her car to pay off the debt, according to court documents, but continued to sell cocaine and OxyContin for Leland.
