The city highway department will begin its annual spring cleanup week April 28. The department will pick up material placed beside the street – not in a ditch or in the street. There will be only one pickup per house within the Belfast Bypass area, and there will be no return trips. All material must be in separate piles or it will not be picked up. Yard rakings, leaves and similar natural materials must be together in one pile. Wood and branches, no longer then 4 feet and no heavier than 40 pounds, must be in a separate pile. All material must be put out no later than May 2.
