1813: Construction completed on first courthouse, which also served as public house of worship, on half-acre lot at Hammond and Main streets.

1814: British troops commandeered the courthouse as a barracks for two days during the War of 1812.

1831: Building sold to city of Bangor for $3,260 for use as a City Hall.

1833: Second courthouse completed on lot at Hammond and Court streets.

1859: Extension for probate office and county commissioners completed.

1905: Current courthouse completed.

2005: Plans for fourth courthouse under way.
