WASHINGTON – Campbell Soup Supply Co. is recalling 473,500 pounds of Campbell’s Spaghettios Plus Calcium in 15-ounce cans because their product labels fail to list meatballs made with soy protein, a known allergen that could cause an allergic reaction in some people.

Each recalled can of “Campbell’s Spaghettios Plus Calcium, Pasta in Tomato & Cheese Sauce” bears the date code AUG 2006 02105. The top of each can bears the package code that begins EST 4R U5 5M. They were produced Feb. 9-10 and distributed nationwide and in Puerto Rico.

The Agriculture Department said Tuesday the Maxton, N.C., firm voluntarily issued the recall after discovering the product had been mislabeled. No illnesses had been reported, the agency said in a statement.

Consumers with questions about the recall can call (800) 796-3484.
