FORT KENT – The University of Maine at Fort Kent will host “Living Green – On Campus and Beyond,” in celebration of Earth Day on Friday, April 22, with the following events:
. An Earth Day fair featuring booths, displays and activities 9:30-11 a.m., Bengal’s Lair.
. “UMFK Energy Use: Now and the Future,” a discussion hosted by Matt Holden, energy consultant for the UMaine System, at 11 a.m., Room 113, Cyr Hall.
. An Earth Day meal featuring locally grown, organic and fair-trade foods, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Nowland Hall.
. “To Be or Not to Be: That is the Question,” an open poetry reading, nature writing and Shakespearean works, 2-3 p.m., Bengal’s Lair, followed by a two-hour acoustic concert featuring UMFK students.
. A screening of the film “Soylent Green” at 7 p.m., Fox Auditorium.
In addition to the scheduled events, the Blake Library will host the exhibit, “Art and Environmental Studies Students Celebrate Earth Day,” through May 9.
