Whitney Bouchard of Fort Kent was selected from more than 1,700 applicants to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy’s summer seminar program in Colorado Springs, Colo. The program gives high school students the opportunity to experience the academy’s environment.

Bouchard, the daughter of David and Penny Bouchard of Fort Kent, is a junior at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics in Limestone.

Rep. Jacqueline Lundeen, D-Mars Hill, has been reappointed to the Energy and Electric Utilities Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures.

The committee, made up of state legislators and staff, convenes three times annually to develop recommendations on national issues involving the electric utility industry, energy efficiency and renewable energy.
