Greenville’s Colin Arey II, Hermon’s Phil Richardson and Levant’s Joe Allen Sr. took the checkered flags on a rain-abbreviated opening day card at Speedway 95 in Hermon Sunday afternoon.

The 50-lap limited, super street and pro stock features were wiped out by the rain and rescheduled for next Sunday’s show beginning at 2 p.m. Those three features will be held first and then the regular racing card will follow.

Racing at Wiscasset Raceway scheduled Saturday was rained out and there won’t be a make-up date.

At Speedway 95, Arey II captured the sport four feature; Richardson was first among the four-cylinder trucks and Allen won the strictly street race.

Since there were only three trucks, they raced with the sport-four cars.

Arey II was followed across the finish line by Winterport’s Ernie Wallace Jr. and Dixmont’s Lewis Batchelder. Rounding out the top five were Justin Trombley of Winter Harbor and Jason Witts of Bangor.

Kenduskeag’s Clarence McCullough was second in the truck race with Mike Rackliff finishing third.

Winterport’s Bobby Seger Jr. followed Allen across the finish line in the strictly street class and Cherryfield’s Chuck Hall was third. Hermon’s Shawn Sperrey and Glenburn’s Jordan Pearson were fourth and fifth, respectively.
