Passengers will be able to catch seasonal daily jet service to Minneapolis from Bangor International Airport starting June 9, according to a prepared statement from the airport Monday. BIA Director Rebecca L. He said, “The Minneapolis service will provide new options to our existing Detroit service for visitors to experience the beauty of the Maine highlands.” City Council Chairman and Mayor Frank Farrington expressed his optimism about the “continued growth in travel options” from BIA. “The addition of the Northwest Airlines service from choices for people operated by Minneapolis will certainly enhance the travel the city of Bangor, but is supported through airport wanting to visit the Bangor region,” he said in the statement.
