SULLIVAN – A Winter Harbor man was taken to the hospital Sunday after falling 15 feet from a ladder while cutting a tree in his son’s yard.
Guy Coombs, 54, was using a chain saw to cut a limb from a tree on Patten Lane about 10:30 a.m. when the limb fell and knocked him off the ladder. Sullivan Assistant Fire Chief and Medical Chief Mike Hiser said Coombs fell face first to the ground below and suffered a cut on his head.
The man’s family saw the fall and called for help, Hiser said.
Coombs was taken by ambulance to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth. A hospital spokeswoman said he was treated in the emergency room, then released.
