SABATTUS – David Benner hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Ben Baudanza-Sturks in the eighth inning and give Rockland a 4-3 baseball victory over Oak Hill of Sabattus Tuesday.

Benner had two singles and three RBIs for Rockland. Josh Fogg singled twice with an RBI and Wade Oliver hit two singles.

Mike Eaton had two singles with an RBI for Oak Hill. Josh Jillson singled with two RBIs and Ethan Guerette hit two singles.

At East Sullivan, Evan Alexander hit an RBI single in the fifth inning to push Sumner past Narraguagus of Harrington.

Alexander had two singles and two RBIs in the game for Sumner. Chris Cowperthwaite and Mason Young each had an RBI single.

Jeff Burditt earned the win by allowing only two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six.

Cory Burt doubled for Narraguagus.

At Rockport, Will Bardaglio singled twice and drove in two runs as the Black Bears of Readfield earned the win.

Casey Coyne had a two-run single for Maranacook.

Andrew Rogers powered the Windjammers with a three-run homer in the third inning and a single. Calen Erskine added an RBI double.

At Hermon, Josh Kane hit two singles, driving in one run, to help pace the Hawks to a season-opening win.

Brian McGinley struck out seven while allowing five hits to earn the win. He also had an RBI single. Dave Wilder chipped in with an RBI single and sacrifice fly.

Robbie Pushard drove in the Golden Bucks only run with a single in the fifth inning. Bucksport loaded the bases in the top of the seventh, but was unable to score.

At Eastport, Cody Bulmer hit a bases-loaded triple in the sixth inning to help lead Shead to victory.

Garrett Getchell singled twice to drive in a run for Machias and Marcus Frutchey hit a triple.

Stearns got one single apiece from Matt Wark, Ryan Bouchard, Jordan Burleigh, Steve Cyr, Ryan Beaulieu and Justin Pelkey.

At Belfast, Eric Kendall’s two-run single sparked a three-run sixth-inning rally that snapped a 5-5 tie and gave Erskine Academy of South China its victory.

Alex Oliver’s sacrifice fly in the seventh provided some insurance.

Jody Jose had two singles for Erskine Academy while Josh Gallant had a two-run homer and RBI double for Belfast and Zac Carr doubled.

Leah Chovinard and Caitlin Anthoine both scored two goals for 1-1 Lewiston. Kelsey Varney and Tanya Galpeau both scored a goal. Mary LaBlanc made six saves on nine shots.

Lindsey Clement had two goals for 1-2 Camden Hills of Rockport and Lindsey Clement added a goal. Erika Johnson made 16 saves on 28 shots.

At Blue Hill, Christy Moon hit an RBI double and Natasha Robbins added an RBI single in the sixth inning to lead George Stevens Academy to the win.

Moon hit a home run, double, and a single to drive in three runs for the Eagles. Chelsea Robbins had two singles with two RBIs and Robin Rioux doubled and singled.

Deanna Michaud hit a home run and two singles for Stearns of Millinocket. Casey Freeman hit a two-run homer in the third inning and Holly Franck had two singles and an RBI.

At Bar Harbor, Nia Megquier pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts as Mount Desert Island won its season-opener.

Megquier and Lynne Bowden each drove in a pair of runs for the Trojans, while Emma Stanley doubled and singled.

Becca Silsby and Emily Miller each singled for Ellsworth.

At East Sullivan, winning pitcher Whitney Page and Jody Pinkham each hit home runs to pace the host Sumner Tigers.

Page’s two-run blast gave the Tigers a 2-0 third-inning lead. Pinkham added a solo shot in the bottom of the fifth. Kayla Higgins added two doubles and scored two runs for Sumner.

Becky Pilloni singled twice for Narraguagus of Harrington, while Alicia Tenney hit a two-run triple.

At Eastport, Machias jumped out to an 8-0 third-inning lead and held on to edge host Shead.

Trailing 11-2, Shead scored eight runs in the bottom of the seventh before being retired with the winning run at second.

Stephanie Whitman had four hits for Machias, while Eileen Alley had three RBIs.

Whitney Vinson paced Shead with two hits, including a three-run double. Brittany Seeley added a two-run single.

At Belfast, Stephanie Whittier scattered four hits and struck out eight as the Lions beat the Eagles of South China.

Kristen Burke doubled and singled for Erskine.

Ericka Joy singled for the Hawks’ only hit. Kristen Oakes fanned 10 and walked four in the loss.

At Searsport, Shannon Pietra singled twice and scored two runs to help Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln to victory.

Sheila Wilbur had two singles with an RBI for Searsport and Theresa Cameron singled and scored a run.

At Brewer, the host Witches used three runs in the bottom of the first inning and the six-hit pitching of Sarah DeFilipp and Jordan McLain to open their season with a victory.

Anna Corey, Sarah Risser and Bekka York each had an RBI in the first inning. Corey had a double and a single for the Witches while McLain and York each had two hits.

Amanda Palmer homered in the fourth to account for Hampden’s run and added a single for the Broncos. Erika Veinote singled twice.
