Bangor police dealt with a handful of people Tuesday who reported that their cars had been broken into during the overnight hours.
A 21-year-old Bangor man said his truck was parked in his driveway when someone apparently unlocked the door and took more than 100 music compact discs that were inside.
The suspect also tried to pull the dashboard apart to take the truck’s stereo but was unsuccessful, Bangor police Officer Russell Twaddell wrote in his police report.
A 24-year-old Bangor woman reported early Tuesday morning that someone had taken a wallet and $20 in change from her car while it was parked at her Essex Street apartment.
The woman’s brother told police that he saw a person flee the scene and described him as a young white male wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, according to a report by Bangor police Officer James Hassard.
There were at least two other reports Tuesday morning of cars being broken into, but police declined to speculate whether the break-ins were connected or not.

Orono police are investigating a spate of break-ins at camps along Pushaw Lake near Gould Landing.
Police responded to a call Tuesday afternoon and discovered that at least four cabins had been broken into. Sgt. Chris Wilcox said he took statements from some cabin owners but he didn’t have any information on what was taken from the camps or when the break-ins might have occurred.
Gould Landing is located at the end of Essex Street, bordering the southern tip of Pushaw Lake. Any information regarding the break-ins should be directed to Orono police Detective Andrew Whitehouse at 866-4000.
