Upon reading yet another opinion regarding the newly revamped food pyramid, I find that I have reached my saturation point on the ongoing debate of proper weight loss. I’d like to offer my humble, yet realistic opinion.
Barring any medically diagnosed (with emphasis on “medically diagnosed”) metabolic disorder, the plain and simple facts are these:
. Eat less and eat foods that are not processed to the point we nearly glow in the dark
. Exercise enough to sweat.
. Calories in vs. calories out
This society is literally obsessed with dieting to the point we are spending millions of dollars on the latest craze designed to drop 10 pounds in two hours. It’s time to wake up to the realization that we alone are responsible for the type and the amount of food that we shovel into our mouths on a daily basis.
If you rest, you rust. As simple, and unpopular to those who make a boatload of cash on diet products as these thoughts are, they remain true. Listen to your body. It’ll tell you what it needs, and your wallet will be that much healthier as well.
