BAR HARBOR – Nia Megquier scattered five hits, struck out two, and walked none to lead the Mount Desert Island Trojans to a 2-0 high school softball win over the Hermon Hawks Friday.

Lauren Smith doubled home Sarah Ingalls in the second inning for the only run Megquier needed, and Asia Ross singled in Lynne Bowden, who had doubled, with an insurance run in the sixth.

Smith finished with a double, a single, and the one RBI.

Shannon Wiggin rapped three singles for Hermon. Ashley Kelley struck out 10 and walked three.

At Bar Harbor, Andy Pooler drove in three runs with a single in the Trojans’ win.

Sam Merrill singled for two RBI as well as striking out 10 batters. Matt Grover had two singles for an RBI and Dan Lyons had an RBI single.

David Wilder singled twice for one RBI for the Hawks. Dustin Jalburt added an RBI single.
