Bangor police arrested a man Wednesday evening after a frightened Boutelle Road woman called to report him lurking outside her front door.

When the woman called 911, she indicated that she intentionally tripped her house alarm to alert authorities; she then screamed and dispatchers lost contact, Bangor police Officer Steve Pelletier wrote in his report.

Several officers went to the scene, including Officer Jason McAmbley, who found a man, identified as Zane Schmauderer, 45, of Bangor, in the woman’s driveway.

Schmauderer had his hands in his pockets, prompting McAmbley to draw his gun and ask to see the man’s hands, the officer wrote in his report.

Police found several items in Schmauderer’s possession, including a 5-inch knife, a police report stated. McAmbley arrested him for criminal trespass.

Another Boutelle Road resident told police that Schmauderer had tried to enter his home earlier in the evening.

A family fight in Bangor on Wednesday led to a man’s arrest for domestic assault.

At around 12:30 p.m., Officer William Lawrence received a report of an assault at a home on Broadway. According to Lawrence, the victim stated that her brother Michael Blackwell, who had been living with her and her mother for some time, had attacked her after she had asked him to leave the house.

Blackwell had been yelling at their mother, and the victim reportedly asked him to leave. Blackwell reportedly threw a laundry basket at her, then grabbed her by the neck and pulled her necklace off, leaving red marks on her neck. The victim said she then slapped Blackwell in the face, and he threw a phone at her back.

The victim said she was going to call police, and Blackwell ran off. Lawrence caught up with him on Greely Street. After questioning, Lawrence arrested Blackwell for domestic assault and took him to Penobscot County Jail. A court date was set for June 10, and Blackwell was ordered to have no contact with his sister and mother.
