Becker slips past Husson McIntosh homer sparks St. Joseph’s

STANDISH – Keith Renaud cracked a two-run home run to bring Becker back from behind in the top of the ninth to defeat Husson 6-5 in the North Atlantic Conference baseball tournament quarterfinal on Friday.

Kevin Renaud and Devon Caron each had a solo home run for the winners.

Sean Brawn had a two-run homer for the Eagles. Justin Spencer tripled and singled for three RBI.

At Standish, Derek McIntosh had a solo home run to help the Monks take a win from Castleton in the NAC quarterfinal.

Jake Rodden singled twice to bring in another run, while Charlie Furbush tripled and singled.

Chad Phillips and Eric Anderson each singled for Castleton (Vt.). Michael Phelps had two RBIs.

At Providence, R.I., Kim Jeffs allowed just two hits and struck out 13 to help lead No. 6 Plymouth State to eliminate No. 4 Southern Maine in the Little East Conference Tournament.

Jess Fortin hit an RBI single in the fifth inning for Plymouth State.

Christen Lachapelle broke up the no-hitter in the fourth with a bunt single for the Huskies.
