Jandreau lifts Fort Kent by Limestone

LIMESTONE – Adam Jandreau hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to lead the Fort Kent Warriors to an 11-7 high school baseball victory over the Limestone Eagles Friday.

Kelly Thibodeau had three singles with an RBI for Fort Kent and Tim Devaney added two singles and an RBI.

Andrew Kirchner doubled and singled for Limestone and Dustin Morgan drove in two runs on a single.

At Madawaska, Andrew Taylor hit a bunt single in the seventh inning to drive in the winning run for Van Buren.

Dustin Cyr doubled and singled to drive in three runs for Van Buren.

Scott Chasse had a double and a single with three RBIs for Madawaska and Dustin Butler had two singles and two RBIs. Billy Roy had two singles and RBI and Mark Sirois drove in two runs on a double.

At Ashland, the Hornets scored both runs in the third inning and held on for the victory.

Jeremy Baker singled, stole two bases, and scored on an error for the first run, and Trevor Tompkins singled in Brandon Slint, who had doubled, for the other run. Josh Chamberlin struck out four and didn’t walk any to get the win.

Erick Martinez doubled for the Panthers of Mars Hill. Andrew York struck out 11 and walked six.

At Dyer Brook, Southern Aroostook’s Adam Anderson outdueled Jason Thompson as his Warriors outhit Washburn nine to six.

Anderson had 12 strikeouts and walked just one batter to notch a win aided by four Washburn errors. He also had a double, two singles, and an RBI. Evan McGary singled twice.

For the Beavers, Sam Harris had two singles and two RBIs. Steven Pesut also singled twice.

Foxcroft, Ellsworth split

At Dover-Foxcroft, the Ponies’ Matt Carey pitched a one-hit shutout in the opener, but Matt Homich scattered five hits in the second game as the Eagles earned the split.

Foxcroft Academy won the first game 4-0, but Ellsworth took the nightcap 8-3.

In Game 1, Carey allowed only a second-inning double to Chris Edgecomb, striking out six and walking seven. David White led the Ponies with an RBI single.

Cory Smith spread out five hits in taking the loss.

In Game 2, Homich struck out eight, walked four and hit a batter while earning the win.

Andy Berry led Ellsworth with a double and a single and Mike Smith singled.

Justin Freeman posted a double for Foxcroft, while Logan Forrest and Josh Pelletier added run-scoring singles.

At Mount Desert, Mike Tardiff’s RBI single to score Brian Roach in the top of the ninth proved to be the game winner for the Crusaders.

Tardiff also knocked in three runs with a homerun in the fifth. George Keefe doubled and singled to bring in two runs. Cody Andrew also doubled and singled to bring in one run. Roach added a double and two singles.

Danny Lyons singled three times, driving in two runs for the Trojans. Marcus Maffuci tripled and singled for two more RBI, while Kyle Shea doubled and singled for another two. Matt Grover had a double, a single and one RBI.

Spooner hit a triple and a single to drive in three runs for Ashland and Whitney Flint also tripled and singled with an RBI. Danielle Long had three singles with an RBI and Jessica Landry singled with two RBIs.

Washburn’s lone run came on a pair of walks and two fielder’s choices.

At Limestone, Britany King turned in a 5-for-5 effort that included four singles, a double and five RBIs to lead the Eagles by the Warriors.

Crystal Silva added two singles, a double and two RBIs for the winners and Meagan Pelletier chipped in with three singles and two RBIs. Melanie Allen also had three singles and Kylie Mulherin singled twice.

Leah Babin hit a two-run home run, RBI double and single for Fort Kent. Monique Labbe singled twice and drove in a run.

Royalettes sweep East Grand

At Danforth, Rachelle Parker’s three-hitter led the Royalettes to a 30-0 victory in the opening game of their doubleheader with the Vikings.

Jonesport-Beals won the second game 9-3.

In the first game, Parker also contributed two doubles, two singles, and four RBIs; Kristy Smith added three singles and four RBIs, and Jennie Durkee had a pair of singles.

Sarah Rodier topped East Grand with two singles.

In the nightcap, Sarah Roy posted a triple, two singles, and an RBI for Jonesport-Beals, and Renee Jordan had a double and two RBIs.

For the Vikings, Jodi Crone, Rodier, and Ryanne Flannery each hit a single. Crone had two RBIs.

Christy McGowen hit an RBI double for Dexter and Tracy Mountain had two singles.

Denielle Nicastro struck out four batters in the last two innings, allowing only one hit to help the Lynx shut the door. Hanscom also had a triple and Jordan McCafferty doubled for two RBI.

Karen Bird singled four times, and drove in the Panda’s only run in the fifth to tie the game. Shelby Pickering had two singles and Jackie Moors had an RBI double.
