BREWER – Kevin McAvoy’s two-run triple highlighted a five-run third inning and freshman Mike Kotredes’ grand slam was the key hit in the fourth as Brewer overcame a 5-0 deficit to post a 14-6 baseball triumph over Hampden Academy Monday night.

McAvoy posted a triple, double, single, and three RBIs for the Witches. Kotredes also singled, Ben Davis singled twice, and Matt Grimes had two singles and a steal of home.

Billy Shannon led Hampden Academy with two singles, while Pat Moran and Chris Pease each hit RBI doubles.

At Dexter, senior righthander Eric Day threw a one-hitter, striking out four and walking one, to lead Dexter past Central of Corinth.

Aaron Woodman and Tim McCarthy had two singles and an RBI apiece while Chris Rabideau and Sam Bowers contributed doubles.

Brian Parks’ second-inning single was the only hit for Central.

Lee 11, Piscataquis 1

At Lee, Charlie Boulrisse allowed just one run on one hit and one walk while striking out eight to lead Lee Academy to victory.

Tyler Thompson hit two RBI doubles for Lee and Gerry Worster tripled and singled with an RBI. Boulrisse hit a two-run double in the second inning and Blaine Clark had two singles with two RBIs.

Wayne Clukey singled in the fourth inning.

At Millinocket, Ryan Beaulieu tripled and doubled and plated three runs to guide Stearns to the win.

Ryan Bouchard had two singles and two RBIs for the Minutemen and Matt Wark hit a two-run single in the fourth inning.

Nick Emery had an RBI single for Penquis.

At Old Town, Danny Michaud hit a three-run double to help lead Presque Isle to the win.

Chad Lavway had two singles and scored two runs for Presque Isle and Matt McGlinn doubled.

Jacob Lukas hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning for Old Town and Brad Perry added a two-run double in the sixth. Jared Goody, Nate Lonko, and Chris Brewer each had two singles.

At East Sullivan, Matt Nickerson pitched the shutout by allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out eight to give Searsport the win.

Sean Johnson doubled and singled and scored a run for Searsport. John Nickerson had an RBI single and Matt Nickerson doubled and scored a run.

A.J. Pennartz doubled for Sumner.

At Hampden, Amanda Palmer belted two doubles and knocked in three runs as the Broncos upended Hermon.

Erika Veinote had three singles and an RBI for the Broncos and Emily Thompson hit an RBI triple. Michelle Wells and Liz Kiser both had two singles.

Mycah Cyr and Becky Colpitts each singled.

At Dexter, Erica Brownell had a triple, double, and three singles to knock in three runs and help lead Central of Corinth to the win.

Jenny Rollins doubled and singled with three RBIs for Central. Chantel Randall had a double and a single to knock in a run and Traci Underhill doubled and singled. Alyssa Libby had eight strikeouts.

Julie Lockhart hit a two-run double for Dexter and Katie Poirier doubled and singled with an RBI. Sabrina Cote hit an RBI double. Michelle Chapman struck out seven.

At Lee, Shelby Pickering knocked in six runs with two home runs, a double and a single as the Pandas cruised.

Pickering hit a three-run homer in the first inning and a two-run shot in the fourth to back Brooke Harris, who pitched a three-hitter with six strikeouts and a walk.

Karin Bird hit a triple and three singles with three RBIs and Jackie Moors posted a double and two singles (2 RBIs) for Lee Academy. Liz Read provided a double, a single and three RBIs, Amanda Gifford singled twice (2 RBIs) and Aarika Ritchie added two singles.

Tracey Dewey doubled for Piscataquis Community of Guilford.

At East Sullivan, triples by April MacLean, Kate Rock and Kayla Higgins highlighted a four-run third inning that built an 8-2 lead and helped Sumner withstand a four-run Searsport rally in the fourth.

MacLean and Higgins had singles to go with their triples and Jody Pinkham also tripled and singled. MacLean had two RBIs.

Nichole Leach had two singles and two RBIs and winning pitcher Whitney Page had a pair of base hits.

Aimee Neilson had four singles for Searsport.
