PATTEN – Displaced workers from Cally & Currier will benefit from assistance from the U.S. Department of Labor, Maine Republican Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins announced recently.
The assistance comes from the Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance program designed to benefit older workers displaced by trade. The former Patten workers will have access to benefits such as training, education, job search and relocation allowances, and re-employment services that include counseling, interview training and resume assistance.
Calley & Currier produced hardwood veneer and closed as a result of a shift in production to a facility in Brazil.
