Opportunities abound for people in our area this weekend who are into everything from bingo to theater to finding ways to entertain the youngsters. Best of all, these opportunities are for wonderfully worthy causes.

For example, for the past five years, OHI, a nonprofit organization that helps people with disabilities live productively in their communities, has been raising money to take 30 of those consumers, plus support staff, to Disney World.

Funds for that dream trip have been raised slowly and steadily through a variety of events, reports Duane Hall of OHI. This Saturday, May 14, the Longaberger Basket fund-raiser will be held at the Brewer Eagles Club, 22 Atlantic Ave., with doors opening at 11 a.m. and games starting at 1 p.m. Admission is $10 for the basket bingo event, and proceeds will help these folks fly to Florida this fall.

For more information about this event, or the trip, call OHI at 989-4007, ext. 769.
