HANCOCK ? An 84-year-old local man was taken to the hospital after a Route 1 crash Thursday morning.
Maine State Police Sgt. Tim Varney said Dorothy Proulx, 62, of Ellsworth was stopped in a line of eastbound traffic near Le Domaine Restaurant because of road work when her Subaru wagon was hit from behind by another vehicle.
The vehicle’s driver, George Partridge of Hancock, complained of chest pains and was taken by ambulance to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth. He was still being evaluated in the emergency room late Thursday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.
