Spot Muse Lisa Carina Watersnake Lazarus Watersnake

Ages: 34 and 3

Residence: Cape Rosier

Spotted: Watching the sunlight fade at Bakeman Beach on Cape Rosier

What are you doing tonight?

We’re going to a potluck, but I always like to stop by the ocean. It’s like my prayer.

What did you do today?

I baked bread.

Are you from Maine? I’m from northern Virginia. But when I came to visit Maine, I had a profound experience. It was a spiritual longing. I drove into Blue Hill and thought: This feels like home. So we moved here.

How do you spend weekend nights? We hang out and go to bed. We live a simple mom-and-young-one life right now.

What’s your life philosophy?

Like Gandhi said: Be the change you want to see in the world. And: Your silence won’t protect you, like Audre Lorde said. That’s how I try to live.

What music do you listen to? The ocean waves. The birds flying by, their wings. When I do listen to music, I love Lorenna McKenna.

Where was your last vacation? I have not gone on a vacation for so long. I loved Ireland. That was four years ago. I guess I feel like this is vacationland.

What are you reading? I just finished “The Verbally Abusive Relationship.”

How was it? Helpful.

What’s in your garden?

Spearmint is all I have right now.

Where do you buy your clothes? At the second-hand store. I try to buy organic if I buy through a catalog.
