Bangor rolls to 7th win Rams’ Anderson 2-hits Nokomis

NEWPORT – Eric Anderson tossed a two-hitter, striking out 11 with no walks, to lead the Bangor Rams to an 11-0 shutout of Nokomis in high school baseball action Tuesday.

Anderson also paced the Rams’ offense with a double and single and four runs batted in.

Anderson’s two-run single and RBI singles by Jordan Heath and Brian Hackett keyed a five-run fourth inning that broke the game open.

Brendan Donaldson and Josh White singled for Nokomis.

Searsport 15, Schenck 2

At East Millinocket, the Vikings pounded out 11 hits, including two singles each from four different players, as Searsport earned its ninth win.

Matt Nickerson, Josh Nickerson, and Tom Cameron each singled twice and drove in two runs for the Vikings. Ryan Shute added two singles.

Chris Byron led the Wolverines with an RBI single.

At Lee, Charlie Boulrisse started the Pandas off with a three-run home run in the first as they ran by the Blue Devils.

Travis Linscott held Calais to two hits in four innings, while walking three and striking out four. Linscott and Boulrisse also had RBI singles. Kris King added two singles, and Gerry Worster had an RBI double for Lee.

Scott Geel singled to bring in one run for Calais.

At Houlton, Hunter Caron hit a two-run double and Ian Pasquerelli added a two-run single to spark a six-run third inning that propelled the Shiretowners to victory.

Stearns of Millinocket had taken a 3-0 lead before Houlton rallied to take the lead for good.

Jordan Hill earned the pitching win, with Mike Cleary getting the save.

Ryan Brewer had three singles for the Shiretowners, while Aaron Fitzpatrick singled twice and Corey Lewis and Cleary each added an RBI double.

Ryan Bouchard doubled twice for Stearns, while Matt Wark and George Surrette each singled twice.

At Milo, Josh Ireland singled, doubled and knocked in three runs to lead the Howlers of Howland to the win.

Matt Cummings had two singles and two RBIs for Penobscot Valley.

Brian Salley and Kevin Nason each had an RBI double for the Patriots.

At Belfast, John Walsh’s fielder’s choice RBI in the fourth plated Brandon Gardner, who had doubled to lead off the inning, with the eventual winning run that gave the Lions their first victory.

Gardner had an RBI single in the first for Belfast, and Josh Gallant allowed just one run on three hits while striking out eight.

John Wentworth rapped an RBI double for the Mustangs of Thorndike, while Mike Mayer and Mike Light each singled.

At Ellsworth, Kyle Shea knocked a two-out RBI single in the top of the seventh to give the Trojans the eventual game-winning run.

Shea also had a two-run single for MDI. Dan Lyons had three singles and three RBIs, and Matt Grover singled three times and plated a run.

Ricky Trombley hit a two-run double for the Eagles, and Matt Homich had two doubles, a single, and two RBIs.

Shead sweeps East Grand

At Eastport, the Tigers remained unbeaten by posting 10-0 and 15-2 victories over the Vikings from Danforth.

In the first game, Aaron Sullivan took a perfect game into the fifth inning before finishing a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Josh Francis hit a double and two singles and had an RBI, and Nick Martinez added a double and single.

For East Grand, Micah Barnes doubled and Adam Beaudoin singled, but Barnes was thrown out at the plate as the Tigers saved the shutout.

In the second game, Sullivan posted a double, two singles, and five RBIs for Shead. Francis contributed two doubles, a single, and two RBIs, and Derek Maloney had a double, a single, and two RBIs. Michael Cummings picked up the win.

Barnes and Brent Byers each had and RBI single for the Vikings.

At Jonesport, Cory Worcester struck out 16 and fired a three-hitter as Narraguagus of Harrington beat Jonesport-Beals. He walked three.

Matt Tenan had a double and two singles and drove in a run and Aaron Knight had two singles and an RBI to pace the Knights. Worcester had an RBI single.

Joseph Libby, Timothy Holmes, and Reggie Mitchell singled for Jonesport-Beals.

At East Millinocket, Melissa Rideout scattered three hits, allowing one run, while recording 13 strikeouts for the second straight game as the Wolverines prevailed.

Ashley Peabody hit an RBI double for Schenck while Rideout and Jamie Cram each singled.

Theresa Cameron held Schenck to just three runs on three hits for the Vikings. Sheila Wilbur doubled and singled, and Cameron added a double.

At Old Town, Lacey Littlefield pitched a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts for the Broncos.

Hampden scored the game’s only runs in the second inning. Amanda Palmer doubled and Hannah Grow singled to set up the rally, with Liz Kiser plating a run with a fielder’s choice and Katie Plowman adding a sacrifice fly.

Nellie Wood led the Broncos’ offense with a triple and a single.

Old Town’s Liz Bergeron pitched a five-hitter with three strikeouts. Amy McFalls and Meghan McKay each singled for the Indians.

Jenn Plourde’s three-run double sparked the Howlers of Howland, and Liz Snape single and scored a run.

Victoria Rowe and Shea Prosser each had a single and two RBIs for Houlton, and Misty Wing added two singles.

Holly Franck notched a triple, double, and plated two runs for the Minutemen of Millinocket. Amy Collinsworth had two singles and two RBIs, Felicia Achorn had two singles and drove in a run, and Dayna Somers chipped in two singles.

At Lee, Emily Wilkinson’s one-out RBI double broke a 6-6 tie in the seventh inning and Chrissy Driscoll followed with a two-run double as Calais scored four times.

Calais trailed 6-5 entering the seventh, but singles by Jess Whitaker, Kaileigh Deacon, and Courtney Ayers tied it up and set the stage for the doubles by Wilkinson and Driscoll.

Winning pitcher Steph Perry, who allowed eight hits, drove in two runs with a double and a single. Ayers and Wilkinson also doubled and singled; Whitaker, Danielle O’Brien, and Lindsey Mingo had two singles each, and Darcy Gillespie hit a solo homer.

Shelby Pickering and Karin Bird had two singles each for Lee, and Pickering had an RBI.

At Belfast, Stephanie Whittier pitched a six-hitter and doubled home a run in the first inning as the Lions earned the victory.

Lauren Overlock also had an RBI double in the first as Belfast took a 2-0 lead. Nicole Hubbard also doubled for the Lions.

Jennifer Masessa pitched a six-hitter for Mount View of Thorndike, and added two singles at the plate. Katie Clements doubled and singled for the Mustangs.
