Vikings’ Nickerson no-hits Penquis

SEARSPORT – Josh Nickerson fired a no-hitter with nine strikeouts as Searsport remained undefeated with a 10-0 schoolboy baseball victory over Penquis of Milo on Wednesday.

Mike Adams collected two singles and a double and knocked in three runs for Searsport while Matt Nickerson smacked a two-run double.

At Jonesport, Jeff Ramsdell singled twice to drive in three runs as the Raiders beat out the Royals.

Sam Hostetter also singled twice to bring in two runs for Washington Academy. Corey Colbeth had two singles and an RBI.

Jack Williams had an RBI single for Jonesport-Beals.

Mariners win twice

At Howland, Thomas Robbins doubled twice and singled once in Deer Isle-Stonington’s win of the first game, 15-4. The Mariners also won the second game 6-2.

In the first game, Nick Ciomei tripled and singled for the Mariners.

Matt Cummings had three singles and an RBI for the Howlers, while Ryan Ware had two singles.

In the second game, John Eaton had a single and two RBIs for Deer Isle-Stonington. Josh Eaton added two singles.

Ware singled twice and Cummings had an RBI single for Penobscot Valley.

At Oakland, Jenna Lettenberger netted four goals to lead the host Eagles past the Windjammers.

Beth Ridley made eight saves for Messalonskee. Erika Johnson made 17 saves for Camden Hills.

At Calais, Steph Perry had four singles and two RBIs to lead the undefeated Blue Devils to their 10th win.

Darcey Gillespie added two singles and a double with three RBIs for Calais, while Chrissy Driscoll had two singles, a double and two RBIs.

Tiffany Wormell paced Woodland with a double, single and two RBIs, while Gena Clark added an RBI single.

At Jonesport, Kayla Wood scattered two runs on three hits while striking out six in a complete-game effort for the Raiders of East Machias.

Rebecca Cox hit an RBI double for Washington Academy while Sara Livingstone had two singles and Meagan Look a double and a single.

Jennie Durkee sparked the Royals with an RBI triple.

At Brewer, Jordan McLean held the Eagles to one hit, striking out 11 and walking two as the Witches advanced to a win.

Christine Thoms hit a two-run home run in the first to start Brewer out with a lead. Anna Corey doubled and singled to bring in two runs. Kate Hanlon had an RBI double and Jordan McLean had two singles.

Reegan Brown had an RBI single for Ellsworth.

At Rockland, Caitlin Hynes pitched a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts in addition to getting two singles, a triple and knocking in a run for the victorious Tigers.

Dana Clark had a single, double and two RBIs while Nicole Clark notched two singles and an RBI for Rockland. Alexandra Todd added two singles.

Mae Nadeau, Chelsea Rioux and Shannon Safford each singled for the Raiders of Sabattus.

Bree Hanscom’s home run in the sixth brought in three runs for Mattanawcook. She and Kaitlin Shorey also had two singles.

Ashlei McMahon hit a two-run single and Ashley Pelletier added an RBI single for Penquis.

Theresa Cameron doubled while Aimee Nielsen and Jen Libby each singled for the Vikings.

At Howland, Jamie Milton pitched a three-hit shutout in the opener to spark host Penobscot Valley to a doubleheader sweep of Deer Isle-Stonington.

In the first game, Milton also doubled and singled twice with two RBIs for the Howlers, while Tiffany Brown doubled and singled twice and Ashley Dawson tripled with two RBIs.

Heather Brewer singled twice for Deer Isle-Stonington.

In the second game, Milton scattered eight hits on the mound while hitting two singles and a triple and plating four runs.

Brown also singled twice and tripled, and drove home three runs.

Anna Boyce singled twice for Deer Isle-Stonington.
