DYER BROOK – Raya King hit two doubles to drive in four runs as Southern Aroostook downed Fort Fairfield 16-10 in high school softball action Friday, handing the Tigers their first loss.

Christine Lawler and Audrey Charette each had a double and two singles with two RBIs for the Warriors.

Brittany Strout had two doubles and two RBIs for Fort Fairfield, and Lauren Beckwith added two singles and two RBIs.

At Danforth, Megan Korhonen earned the pitching win and aided her own cause with two singles, a double, and two RBIs to lead Greater Houlton Christian Academy to victory.

Amanda Livzey added two singles and two RBIs for the winners, and Lacy Farrar notched a two-run single.

Paula Osnoe recorded a two-run double for East Grand, and Jodi Krone had an RBI single.

At Houlton, Natasha Ritchie allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out seven to pace Houlton to victory.

Keegan Hovey had three singles and an RBI for Houlton, and Sarah Harbison singled twice with two RBIs. Misty Wing and Michelle Varney both had two singles and an RBI.

Kirsten Harvey hit an RBI single for Hodgdon.

Bouchard and Babin each finished with two singles and three RBIs, and Monique Labbe added a two-run double.

Erin Pelletier posted two singles and two RBIs for the Owls, Ashley Cyr added two singles, and Beth Gerard had a two-run single.

Trisha Hobbs and Courtney O’Donnell each doubled to drive in a run for the Wolverines, and Ashley Gleason doubled.

Penquis sweeps Piscataquis

At Milo, Dani Graves allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out 11 in two wins for Penquis. The Patriots won the first game 14-2 and the second game 12-0.

In the first game, Mindy Dolley hit a double and two singles for Penquis, and Kylie Palmer singled twice and drove in two runs.

Kellie Martel had two singles for Piscataquis of Guilford.

In the second game, Graves had two singles and two RBIs for the Patriots. Suzanne Johnson singled twice to knock in a run, and Ashley Pelletier had two singles.

Abby Galuski singled in the fourth inning for the Pirates.

At Houlton, Ryan Brewer and Corey Lewis combined for a one-hitter while allowing just three walks and one run and striking out 11 to lead the Shiretowners to the win.

Hunter Caron doubled and singled to drive in two runs for Houlton. Brewer and Jordan Hill each had two singles and an RBI.

Jesse Lane singled for the Hawks, and Matt Sylvester scored the run.

Dom Morrill had a double and a single for Rockland, Ben Baudanza-Sturks and John Coppola had two singles each, and David Benner drove in three runs. Coppola had two RBIs.

Josh Fogg went the distance for the win.

Joe Clark had a triple and two doubles and drove in three runs for Lincoln Academy of Newcastle.

Joe Robichaud added an RBI single in the seventh inning for Bucksport. Pushard had two singles and an RBI, and Maguire singled twice.

Brad Staples had two singles and an RBI for the Trojans. Dustin Dunn doubled and singled, and Jake Willis added two singles.

Mike Burnett doubled and singled with an RBI for Piscataquis of Guilford, and Roy Burdin doubled and singled.

At Millinocket, freshman righty Justin Pelkey tossed a two-hitter, striking out two and walking two, to pitch Stearns past Central of Corinth.

Pelkey, Steve Cyr, and George Surrette had run-scoring singles in a four-run first inning that gave Pelkey a comfortable lead.

Cyr had two singles and two RBIs, and Ryan Beaulieu contributed a run-scoring double.

Kurt Smith and Andy Bell had singles for Central.
