INTERLAKEN, Switzerland – Adam Craig of Corinth raced to a second-place finish Sunday in a Swisspower Cup international mountain bike race held amid the Swiss Alps.

The Team Giant rider started in the back of the field, but gradually worked his way up to the front where he battled Christoph Sauser. But once Craig reached the front, Sauser pulled away to earn the victory.

Craig, 23, was competing in the Swisspower Cup event in preparation for his return to the International Cycling Union World Cup circuit next weekend at Houffalize, Belgium. Craig is currently ranked 25th in the UCI standings out of 101 riders from around the world who have accumulated points, and is coming off a top-20 finish in the second race in the series earlier this month in Madrid, Spain.
