A Bangor man caught on tape using a stolen debit card and identified by a family member who recognized him in a news account remains at large.
A warrant has been issued for Ryan Channell, 25, who, for a while, police knew only as a suspect pictured in a photograph taken from a surveillance camera at the Corner Mini Mart on Union and Fourteenth streets where a stolen debit card was used to make purchases.
After Channell’s photo was printed in the Bangor Daily News on March 4, a family member came forward to identify him, said Bangor police Officer Marty McCrea. Even with a name, McCrea said, Channell has not been apprehended nor has he turned himself in. Anyone with information may contact the Bangor Police Department at 947-7382, ext. 223.
A trailer hauling an excavator overturned on the White School House Road in Corinth on Saturday afternoon, prompting authorities to block off for several hours the road that runs between Route 15 and the Tate Road.
Kim Clement, 39, of Charleston was in a pickup truck headed to Route 15 when the hooks on his trailer broke as he made a sharp turn, Maine State Trooper Seth Edwards said Saturday.
The excavator turned onto its side into a ditch, and the trailer flipped upside down. The truck ended up partially in the ditch but was quickly driven out.
Clement was not injured, Edwards said.
