CASEY QUAGLIA
The Bangor High sophomore set a Pendleton Street Complex record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 1.21 seconds during a Penobscot Valley Conference meet at the in Brewer. Quaglia also won the 1,600 in 4:32.05.
Small School (Classes C-D)
MATT NICKERSON
The Searsport High junior pitched a one-hitter and had two hits in a 4-1 victory over defending state champion George Stevens of Blue Hill. He then had two singles and a double in an 11-9 loss to Deer Isle-Stonington.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
ALLIE CLUKEY
Bangor High freshman Clukey’s time of 12.98 seconds in the 100-meter dash at Saturday’s Penobscot Valley Conference track and field meet broke a 16-year old record and helped the Rams take the meet. Clukey’s winning time snapped the Pendleton Street Complex mark of 13.04. She also won the 200 (27.31), ran on the winning 4×100 relay team and won the long jump (15 feet, 6 inches).
Small School (Classes C-D)
RACHELLE PARKER
Parker, a senior on the Jonesport-Beals softball team, had a game-winning two-run single in the bottom of the seventh that lifted the Royalettes to an 18-17 victory and doubleheader sweep over Deer Isle-Stonington Saturday. Parker drove in 11 runs and had a .692 batting average in the two games. Jonesport-Beals went to 7-5 after the wins.
