Gillespie leads Dragons to win

DANFORTH – Lacey Gillespie had a double, single and drove in a pair of runs as the Woodland softball team picked up an 8-7 victory over East Grand Wednesday in high school action.

Courtney Cochran notched three singles and two RBIs for Woodland.

Allie McKay had a triple, double, single and three RBIs to lead the Vikings and Jodie Croan added two singles.

At Hampden, Amy Hackett hit a two-run home run in the second inning to help lead Bangor to the win.

Courtney Stevenson added an RBI triple in the second for the Rams and Erin Porter hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.

Amy Wadleigh allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six.

Michelle Wells singled twice and scored a run for Hampden Academy and Amanda Palmer hit an RBI single.

At Lincoln, Bree Hanscom smacked a two-run triple in the first inning to power the Lynx past the Patriots of Milo.

Jordan McCafferty chipped in with two singles and scattered five hits for the win.

Michelle Mulherin singled twice and Dani Graves hit an RBI single for Penquis.

At Howland, Holly Franck knocked a double, single and drove home a run to push the Minutemen past the Howlers.

Deanna Michaud and Felicia Achorn each doubled for Stearns of Millinocket.

Randi Rackley had a double and a single and Ashley Dawson a double for Penobscot Valley.

At Dexter, Tania Morales hit two singles and drove in a run to help lead Dexter past Schenck of East Millinocket.

Ashley Peabody led Schenck with two singles and an RBI.

At Danforth, the Dragons plated four unearned runs on three East Grand errors en route to the win.

Micah Barnes and Brett Byers each had two singles for the Vikings.

At Lincoln, Drew Welch scattered three hits while striking out 13 with no walks to lead the Lynx past the Patriots.

Rick Robinson paced Mattanawcook with two singles and two RBIs. Jason Murchison hit a two-run single in the first inning and Derek Libbey added a triple.

Nick Emery and Kevin Nason each hit an RBI single for Penquis of Milo.

At Howland, Ryan Beaulieu hit a two-run double in the sixth inning to break the tie and give Stearns of Mattanawcook the win.

Steve Cyr had three singles and an RBI for Stearns and Ryan Bouchard doubled and singled with two RBIs.

Matt Cummings tripled and singled to drive in a run for Penobscot Valley. Josh Ireland and Ryan Ware both had a double and a single with an RBI.

At Dexter, Eric Day slammed a three-run homer and Tyler Poirier a three-run double to spark a nine-run first inning for the Tigers.

Day added an RBI single later in the game for Dexter. Sam Bowers and Chris Rabideau each had three singles and an RBI.

Ben Schiable knocked a two-run single for the Wolverines of East Millinocket and Aaron Waite had two singles.
