HERMON – It’s an age-old tradition, and it was carried out once more with the Change of Command on May 19 at the Hermon High School JROTC Hawk Battalion.
Cadet Lt. Col. Andrew Farrar, outgoing commander, passed the colors of the Hermon JROTC to Cadet Maj. Tabitha Golding, incoming commander. Both are juniors at Hermon High School.
Lt. Col. Stephen Frost, retired, participated in the ceremony.
The following cadets were promoted:
. Joshua Blaine, Thomas Greatorex, Cody Haggett and Justin Hazlett to cadet captain.
. Elizabeth Noyes and Ashley Richards to cadet second lieutenant.
. Bradley Gagnon to cadet first sergeant.
. Dillon Noble to cadet sergeant first class.
. Brianna Amaral, Clarice Costain, Joshua Foltz, Johnathon Greenlee, Kevin Hartley, Bradley Jamison, Kayla Lizotte, Shawn Parsons, Anthony Rogers and Sumner Sewall to cadet corporal.
. Justin Carman, Kyle Cunningham, Allen Rediker, Chris Skinner and David White to cadet private first class.
Awards presented were:
. Daughters of the American Revolution JROTC Award to Cadet 1st Lt. Maureen Klink, presented by Frances Dighton Williams Chapter. Klink, a senior, plans to join the Air Force after graduation.
. National Honor Society Award to Cadet Capt. Justin Hazlett and Cadet Capt. Thomas Greatorex.
. Academic Excellence Award to Cadet Capt. Justin Hazlett.
