Dance Eastport series to begin June 3

EASTPORT – Dance Eastport will debut its monthly contradance and concert series at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 3 at the new Eastport Arts Center at 34 Washington St., the former home of the Washington Street Baptist Church. The Black Socks String Band will provide music and an introductory mini-lesson about the aspects of dancing will occur at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under.

Dance Eastport also will be holding weekly folk dance classes and a vacation dance camp at the Eastport Arts Center. The weekly dance classes will be held Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Beginners of all ages are welcome and the cost is $3 per class.

The summer dance camp will run from July 18 to 22 with two consecutive 90-minute morning classes for two age groups. The cost is $20 per child and limited to 12 children in each class.
