MILLINOCKET – Heather Gulesian hit an RBI single in the top of the seventh to lift the Mattanawcook Academy Lynx to a 6-4 high school softball victory over the Stearns Minutemen Monday.
Felicia Ireland had two singles and scored two runs for Mattanawcook.
Casey Freeman paced the Minutemen with two singles, a double and an RBI while Hannah Somers notched two singles and an RBI.

Patriots lose two
At Dexter, Bangor Christian dropped a pair of games, 6-4 to Lee Academy in the first and 5-4 to Dexter in the second.
In the first game, Liz Reed and Aarika Ritchie each singled twice as the Pandas past Bangor Christian.
Kerri Harris added a double.
Annie Babineau tripled and singled to lead the Patriots.
In the second game, Sabrina Cote slapped a two-run single to key a three-run third inning for the Tigers.
Tracy Mountain hit an RBI single for Dexter while Roseanna Stewart had two singles and an RBI. Cristy McGowan had 11 strikeouts in a complete-game, one-hit effort.
Christian Pelletier singled for Bangor Christian’s lone hit.
