Big School (Classes A-B)
ELIOT POTVIN
The Hampden Academy sophomore allowed just nine games in five matches while powering his way to the boys state singles tennis championship. Potvin capped off an undefeated season with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Garret Currier of Cape Elizabeth in the final.
Small School (Classes C-D)
CARSON HARTMAN
The Fort Kent senior was named outstanding performer of the PVC small-school track and field championships. Hartman won the long and triple jumps and the 200, while placing second in the 100.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
ERIKA VEINOTE
The Hampden senior pitcher picked up two wins Saturday, allowing a combined three hits and three runs while striking out 18 and walking three. She tossed a one-hitter against Nokomis for a 2-1 win and threw a no-hitter in a 12-0 win over Hermon.
Small School (Classes C-D)
COURTNEY MARTIN
Martin, a senior at John Bapst of Bangor, picked up two individual wins and a relay victory as the Crusaders won their fourth straight PVC Small School title. Martin ran on a 4-by-800 meters relay team that clocked a conference-record 9:51. She also won the 1,600 in 5:21.07 and the 3,200 in 11:28.57.
