Central High School, Corinth

Central High School Principal Garry Spencer has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2005. Commencement exercises will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 12, at the Central High School gymnasium.

Brian E. Parker, son of Jeffrey and Susan Parker of Bradford, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2005. He will attend the University of Maine at Orono to study business administration.

He is a National Honor Society member, was a delegate to Dirigo Boys State, and the recipient of the University of Rochester Humanities and Social Science Award. He served on the student council for four years, was on the math team and was active in the science club, competing in several competitions. He was a student representative on a New England Association of Schools and College committee.

Parker played golf, baseball and basketball. He made the PVC all-academic basketball team and PVC varsity golf class C all-stars first team. He was active in the Project Adventure program and the recipient of the town of Bradford Youth Leadership Award. He is an Eagle Scout and a member of the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church.

Joseph Kane, son of David and Valarie Kane of Bradford, has been named salutatorian of the Class of 2005. He will attend Husson College to study accounting and sports management.

He is a member of the National Honor Society, was on the math team and was active in the science club, competing in several competitions. He represented his class on the student council for four years and was a Maine Youth Leadership Ambassador. He was the recipient of the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science award, and was a state finalist for the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award. He placed second in the state BEAM contest.

Kane played soccer, basketball, baseball and was a team captain for all three sports. He was active in the Project Adventure program and made first class rank in Boy Scouts. He is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bangor.
