Libby is player of year

CHICAGO – Gatorade has chosen Michelle Libby of Sacopee Valley High School in Hiram as its Maine Softball Player of the Year.

At the time of her selection, the junior pitcher had pitched 40 innings with a 0.00 ERA and 82 strikeouts. She was batting .519 with three doubles, one triple, and nine RBIs through six games. Last year she was 13-2 with a 0.56 ERA and 136 strikeouts in 100 innings. As a freshman, she went 14-0 with a 0.15 ERA and 166 strikeouts.
