For anyone who’s been watching the efforts of the “Friends of Dakin Pool” to keep this neighborhood treasure open, there’s an opportunity to lend support. The Bangor City Council has agreed to waive user fees for the pool if Dakin supporters can come up with $2,300 to fund a lifeguard for the summer of 2005.

On Thursday, June 9, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Abraham Lincoln School cafeteria, there will be a community spaghetti supper and rally to raise the necessary funds. Many thanks should go to these citizens for working so hard to save the Dakin Pool.
