Easton Junior-Senior High School

Donna Lisnik, principal of Easton Junior-Senior High School, has announced honor parts for the Class of 2005. Graduation will be at 7 p.m. Friday, June 10.

Nathan White, son of Bruce and Elaine White of Easton, has been named valedictorian for the Class of 2005. He will attend Bentley College in Waltham, Mass., to study finance management.

He is president of the National Honor Society and the senior class, a member of the varsity club, co-president of the French club, and vice president of the student council. He was a junior exhibition speaker and in the cast of the Easton Theatre Company productions and the senior play. He attended Boys State and was on the yearbook staff.

White was involved with the Aroostook Teen Leadership program and received the Maine Principals’ Association Award. He was selected as a Coca-Cola scholar and was awarded a $4,000 scholarship, being one of 250 students nationwide selected for the honor. He is a 2005 class marshal.

Megan Wark, daughter of Karen Wark of Easton and Richard Wark of Mapleton, has been named salutatorian for the Class of 2005. She will attend Berkshire Institute for Christian Studies in Lenox, Mass.

She has participated in the Aroostook Regional Gifted and Talented theater program, been a member of the cast of the senior play and the one-act play. She is a member of jazz choir and band and has been selected three times to All-Aroostook Chorus. She placed second for her recitation of “Lobsters and Insects” during the Easton junior exhibition. She is secretary of the National Honor Society, secretary of varsity club, co-president of French club and vice president of the Class of 2005. She was co-editor of the yearbook, played on or acted as manager of the soccer, basketball and volleyball teams. She is a 2005 class marshal.

Brandon Carlow, son of Leslie and Philip Carlow of Easton, has been named first honor essayist. He will attend Eastern Maine Community College to study medical radiography.

He participated in varsity soccer and basketball, the senior play and Easton Theatre Company productions. He was the third place speaker at junior exhibition. He is president of the varsity club, member of the student council, National Honor Society, math team and co-president of the French club.

Carlow is a member of the environmental and natural resources team that placed first in regional meet and is seeded No. 1 in the state. He was on an environmental and natural resources team that won a silver award at the national level.

Stephen Hopkins, son of Dave Hopkins and Vicki Saucier of Easton, has been named second honor essayist. He will attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle to study athletic training.

He has played basketball, soccer, volleyball, acted in the senior play and presented at the junior exhibition. He is a member of the environmental and natural resources team. He was on an environmental and natural resources team that won a silver award at the national level.

Hopkins is on the yearbook staff, vice president of the varsity club and vice president of National Honor Society and is a member of Easton’s math team.
