Big School (Classes A-B)
LEVI MILLER
The Belfast High senior won both the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs at the Class B state track and field championships in Bath. Miller won the 1,600 by six seconds in 4 minutes, 16.8 seconds, and he won the 3,200 by 22 seconds in 9:32.50. The Georgetown University-bound Miller also was part of the Lions’ championship 4×400 relay team.
Small School (Classes C-D)
TIM MCCARTHY
The senior first baseman for the Dexter baseball team capped off the regular season by going 7-for-7 at the plate with two home runs, eight RBIs, eight runs scored and three walks in three games for the 15-1 Tigers.

Big School (Classes A-B)
JESSICA BELANGER
The Caribou High senior tennis player won both of her postseason matches at first singles as the undefeated No. 1 Vikings began defense of their 2004 Eastern Maine Class B title. Belanger beat Macy Beaulieu of Fort Kent 6-1, 6-1 in the quarterfinals and then shut down Jenny Dalrymple of Ellsworth 6-0, 6-0 in the semis.
Small School (Classes C-D)
BRITTENY STROUT
Strout, a Fort Fairfield senior pitcher, picked up her 15th victory last week, a 13-1 win over Southern Aroostook, to put the Tigers into second place in Eastern Maine Class D and avenge her only loss of the season. Strout has an ERA of 3.60 and averages six strikeouts per game.
