AUGUSTA – A former Washington County man was sentenced this week in Kennebec County Superior Court to one year in prison on separate charges of violating probation and assault.

Chris Feltner, 24, who recently has been living in Bangor but originally is from Lubec, will serve nine months for violating probation from a previous assault.

He also will serve three months of a two-year suspended sentence for a new assault during which he burned the hands of his infant daughter, Penobscot County Deputy District Attorney Michael Roberts said Wednesday.

Feltner will serve his prison sentence in Penobscot County Jail, but was in Kennebec County for sentencing because that is where the judge was sitting, Roberts said.

The prison term will be followed by four years of probation to be served by Feltner under supervision.
