ORONO – The University of Maine men’s ice hockey team had ten student-athletes named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team, which was the second most in the conference. The ten Black Bears honored are the most for Maine since the All-Academic Team began in 1989. In addition, Brent Shepheard was named to the Academic All-Star team at forward, identifying the top GPAs by position.

For Maine, Keenan Hopson, Keith Johnson, Matt Lundin, Greg Moore and Travis Ramsey were honored for the first year. Michael Leveille, Mike Lundin, Steve Mullin, Jeff Mushaluk and Brent Shepheard were two-time honorees.
