Piscataquis Community High School, Guilford, Honor parts
GUILFORD – Guilford Community High School recently announced its honor parts for the Class of 2005. Commencement exercises were held June 4.
Melissa Lutz, daughter of Bob and Diane Lutz of Sangerville, was named valedictorian for the Class of 2005. She will attend Messiah College in Pennsylvania to study communications-film and theater.
She has participated in student council, National Honor Society and Key Club as well as being captain of the field hockey team, a member of the track team, pep band, chorus, and math team. She received the MPA student of the year award, was a Girls State delegate, was on the all-state academic field hockey team, and was nominated for the Penquis Valley Conference Joe Paul Memorial Scholarship. She has been an active member of Grace Bible Church in Sangerville, serving in special music, vacation Bible school, and Teens Involved, where her quiz team will compete at the international level in July.
Amy Marie Knowlton, daughter of Tim and Kelley Knowlton of Abbot, was named salutatorian for the Class of 2005. She will attend the University of Maine.
She played field hockey for four years and served as captain for two years. She was a member of the all-state academic field hockey team and was chosen for PVC first team. She was president of the National Honor Society and a member of student council. She served as treasurer of the prom committee for two years. She was a member of the math team and attended Dirigo Girls State last summer.
Carrabec High School, North Anson, Honor parts
NORTH ANSON – Kenneth Corville, principal of Carrabec High School, recently announced the honor parts for the Class of 2005. Graduation was held Sunday in the Carrabec High School gymnasium.
David Clifford, son of David and Virginia Clifford of Anson, was named valedictorian for the Class of 2005. He will attend the University of Maine to study mathematics and computer science. He led his class for four years at Carrabec and was the top science and math student.
Brittany Gaw, daughter of Brian Gaw of Guilford and Deborah Gaw of Madison, was named salutatorian for the Class of 2005. She will attend the University of Southern Maine to study psychology.
She was on the honor roll each ranking period of her high school career.
