Two Ellsworth businesspeople have agreed to purchase a local FM station from Clear Channel Radio. Mark Osborne and Natalie Knox have formed Stony Creek Broadcasting LLC, which will be the new owner of WNSX (97.7 FM) following Federal Communications Commission approval of the deal, which is expected this fall. “Our focus will be on Hancock and Washington counties,” said Osborne. “And the studios will be right here in Ellsworth.” Osborne and Knox previously owned WKSQ, WLKE and WBFB, which were sold to Clear Channel in 2000. WNSX has been simulcasting the classic rock programming of another Clear Channel station. Under its new ownership, that arrangement will cease and WNSX will originate it own local programming from the Ellsworth studios.
