The Portland Sea Dogs, the double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have promoted infielder Dirimo Chavez and LHP Randy Beam from Single-A Wilmington and placed shortstop Hanley Ramirez on the disabled list with a lower back strain, the Red Sox announced Monday.

The Sea Dogs also transferred LHP Kason Gabbard to single-A Lowell.
