BANGOR – Bangor Parks and Recreation will open both municipal pools for the summer season in the next few days.
The Beth Pancoe Municipal Aquatic Center on Union Street will open at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18, featuring two water slides, a “zero entry” area with a variety of water features, as well as a lap area.
The fee for entry into the Pancoe Aquatic Center is $1 for Bangor resident children, $2 for Bangor resident adults, $2 for nonresident children, and $4 for nonresidents. Season passes are available for children, adults and families, and must be purchased at the Parks and Recreation office at 647 Main St.
In addition to afternoon swim at 1 p.m., the Pancoe Aquatic Center is open for adult lap swim from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, and family swim time from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Lessons are offered at the Pancoe Aquatic Center Monday through Thursday mornings.
The Dakin Municipal Pool will open at 1 p.m. Monday, June 20, at the end of Pine Street, just off Stillwater Avenue. Dakin Pool is open 1-5 p.m. seven days a week. There is no charge to swim at Dakin Pool.
