ABBOT – Construction is complete on a temporary bridge that failed a week and a half ago in this southern Piscataquis County town.

Replacement beams were installed, and deck planks and bridge railings were restored on the bridge, which carries traffic on Routes 6, 15 and 16.

The project was finished late Tuesday.

The new temporary bridge carries several critical restrictions. The bridge is posted against carrying more than one truck at a time; trucks approaching the bridge from the south must stop before crossing; and all traffic on the bridge will be reduced to 15 mph.
